An abstract photo depicts a real life subject in an unnatural way.
Abtraction is the photographic art that is not representational of real objects in the natural world. By taking the essence of the photo or a portion of the photo and by using color and or the form in an aesthetic arrangement or combination, the photographic abstraction becomes art.

Exploring Adobe Photo Shop
Take 10 photographes of your choice. Make sure you are being creative, and using the basic principles of photography. Then using the Adobe Photoshop tutorial provided on my blog and the Adobe Photo Shop program on your desk top, experiment with some of the tools provided. Change, alter, and modify your pictures, and label each picture and the tools you used. Be creative and have fun!
